Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Cuvée is the pride of the House of Perrier-Jouët. It is the original Belle Époque vintage cuvée, first appearing in 1964. Instantly recognisable across the globe, its bottle is adorned with the graceful spray of Japanese white anemones created for Maison Perrier-Jouët by Art Nouveau master Emile Gallé in 1902. The equally impressive contents have the classic elegance and finesse of great Champagne― made from ingredients sourced from top vineyard sites such as Cramant, aged for a minimum of five years, usually much longer, prior to release.
A luxury champagne house focused on quality, Perrier-Jouët has family roots reaching back to 1811, with some of the finest vineyards in Champagne and a reputation for crafting floral, elegant cuvées of finesse. Behind this stands a line of just seven Cellar Masters who have upheld the house style. Since its 1902 collaboration with Art Nouveau pioneer Emile Gallé, creator of the anemone design for the house’s Belle Epoque prestige cuvée, Perrier-Jouët has commissioned work from established and emerging artists.
The tasting note discloses Magnolia, honeysuckle, and citrus aromas clothed in pear and peach notes with a hint of minerality. Bold initial flavours are followed by a wonderfully crystalline freshness, revealing white fruit flavours complemented by notes of almond milk. On the nose, it is fresh and delicate with distinctive aromas of white fruit and flowers.
This prestigious cuvée pairs naturally with noble ingredients, such as the King prawns with creamy polenta, sole meunière, Parmesan, or Comté cheese.
